For years, a conversation has been going on about creating a combined calendar for all of the Jewish organizations in Boulder. But time, energy, money, technology and priorities didn't give a combined view in one easy place.

The main stumbling block: no organization wants to have to re-type in their events again and again at several different calendar sites. In tight economic times, very few organizations have the staffing resources to be able to dedicate a staff member (or even a valued volunteer) to keep their events updated on many different sites.

What we've done is use technology like RSS feeds, XML and other ways to have our system read from other organization's websites. It's not perfect (but then, not much is), but it solves the issue and puts the information in a neutral, third party location. Most of the Jewish organizations in Boulder are listed here on the site, and we're working to add more soon (one prominent organization is redesigning their site and will have a new calendar feed in place soon).

The site was designed and created by Jeff Finkelstein, founder of the website development company, Customer Paradigm, and husband of Rabbi Jamie Korngold, founder of the Adventure Rabbi program. (Her events show up in alphabetical order on the list, below). We're open to donations and grants to help take the site to the next level.
